Sorry ladies (Edited)

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

No ANTM recaps. Don’t have it in me. See better ones here and here.

Never mind. Did you see tonight’s episode?? B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Tyra, you brought it out of me. *I* wanna be on top!

I’m not gonna put pressure on myself to do recaps because maybe 1-2 people read them here. And the links above truly are far superior to anything I could come up with. But I can not let Paulina Porizkova calling Dominique (who I call Leatherface) a transvestive go untouched! Or the fact that they posed as homeless people (although they looked more like art school students) - WITH REAL HOMELESS PEOPLE! Or that they did a runway show for one of my favorite designer firms - Badgley Mischka - and were HORRIBLE.  Or that they’re making some of the girls sleep together in a giant bed to try and inspire some lesbionics! Or that the dumb blonde up and quit because she’s not in to fashion (then WHY did you audition to be on a fashion modeling show?) (I totally just pulled a Victoria with the “fashion modeling” thing there)! Or that they KEPT the pubic hair girl?

WOWZERS!

I might have to stop hating Ben Affleck…

because this is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time.

(Apologies, I can’t get it to embed without screwing up the layout of this site)

Randoms…

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

So we’re in dire need of a real update, but you’re not going to get one tonight. Just a summary - we’ve moved into the new house! It rocks! We’re tired. E and I are going to be working hard and traveling for the next few weeks (him more than me, likely) so not sure how much house stuff and updates we’ll get done. So I wanted to do just a random post of news and links.

YOU TELL HIM, ROY!! GET ANGRY, ROY - March 8th is just around the corner!

America’s Next Top Model starts again tonight. I’ll be covering it, but probably not until this weekend. I’ll tivo it and watch later because if I watch when E is in the room, the Earth will spin backwards on its axis and his head will explode.

Full moon eclipse tonight, and I’m not just talking about my plans to take off my pants and stand in front of the TV.

Sudden horrific realization: Today, a vendor came into work and gave a presentation. They left us a basket of snacks, and I ate the chocolate covered pretzels. Not long after, I barfed. Did I get stinkpalmed?

Back to the sofa.

BRACE YOURSELF

People… make sure you’re sitting down. Especially you, Fitz.

I’m afraid… I have some good news and bad news.

The good news is, the writers’ strike is over. So your shows will be coming back in a couple of months. Except…

Except for…

Well kids, here’ the bad news. 24 isn’t coming back for 11 months.

I KNOW! I KNOW! It’s ok, you can cry it out. I did.

Mommy and Daddy and Jack Bauer still love you, ok?

(PS so help me Soulpatch, I don’t know if I can make it without recapping something for 11 months. So I’ll be going back to the America’s Next Top Model recaps… I think. Or, offer other suggestions in comments.)

So… not much of a house update…

After taking a night off last week to see Cloverfield on Friday (not worth it), I spent Saturday working with the tile saw and making all the cuts for the kitchen. It took longer than I expected as there were more detailed cuts than I was anticipating, with a lot of nooks and crannys so to speak. But I finished Saturday evening in time for Karen and I to head over to Best Buy, where we plopped a good chunk of change down on a new Washer and Dryer, Refrigerator, Range, and Dishwasher. After that we had a very late dinner at Olive Garden, and that’s when the fun began….

I got some terrible food poisoning, either from Olive Garden or from lunch at Showmars from Friday afternoon. That became a possibility as I found out another person I work with also got food poisoning around the exact same time I did early Sunday morning, and we both had chicken.

I was pretty much down for the count Sunday, but I had to return the tile saw by 10:30 Sunday morning. I started getting sick around 4:00 AM Sunday morning, and pretty much kept getting sick every 5-20 minutes after that until 5PM sunday. So needless to say, driving 30 minutes down to our new house and putting the tile saw into Karen’s car to take back to the rental place was not fun.

I’m feeling better now, but we lost all work that we were going to do on Sunday, and I haven’t been able to make it back over there since. I still need to mortar the cut tiles in place, and then grout to finish the kitchen floor. Then I’ll need to buy new quarter round and attach to the baseboards, then paint the baseboards before the kitchen is completely done.

The only room that still needs to be painted before we move in is the master bedroom, which Karen needs my help with to reach the ceiling. We have a lot to do, and still need to make some headway packing. Should be fun, wish us luck!
